Atomoxetine
From SNPedia
Atomoxetine, trade name Strattera, is a norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor approved for the treatment of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).Wikipedia
Atomoxetine is primarily metabolized by the protein encoded by the CYP2D6 gene, and SNPs in CYP2D6 can influence drug efficacy and side effect frequency or severity. In particular, CYP2D6 ultrarapid (fast) metabolizers may have reduced efficacy of atomoxetine or so may prefer alternative drugs. CYP2D6 poor metabolizers may be more subject to adverse drug (side) effects.
