The GANAB gene on chromosome 11 encodes the catalytic alpha subunit of glucosidase II.
Certain mutations in the GANAB gene have been reported to be lead to autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD; listed in OMIM as ADPKD type 3) as well as autosomal dominant polycystic liver disease (ADPLD).[PMID 28375157],[PMID 27259053],[PMID 29243290]
