Gene Essence

Gene Essence is a personal genomics service offered by the company BioMarker Pharmaceuticals. Genetic testing is performed using an Affymetrix 6.0 SNP array, providing information on close to 1 million genetic variants (SNPs). These variants are used to calculate a "genetic susceptibility" score for a variety of common diseases and complex traits.
The service currently costs $1,195, making it slightly more expensive than personal genomic tests offered by 23andMe and deCODEme but cheaper than the Navigenics offering.
The demo version of the Gene Essence service was recently unfavourably reviewed by Genetic Future.
