This haplogroup has subclades under it. The most specific subclade match is the most significant.
Haplogroup R (Y-DNA) represents one of two major European Y chromosome haplogroups (the other major haplogroup is Haplogroup I (Y-DNA)). The majority of European Y chromosomes belong to Haplogroup R (Y-DNA). [PMID 18385274]

In contrast to gs196 all available markers must agree, so a single no-call will prevent this from being recognized. This may be overly strict, and further generalizations for other testing platforms may be warranted.
To prevent false positives it also makes sure you do not have the non-mutated variant in all markers for which you have results.
