Lansoprazole
From SNPedia
Lansoprazole, trade name Prevacid, is a drug primarily used to treat ulcer and acid reflux disease (heartburn) conditions. This drug is metabolized by the protein encoded by the CYP2C19 gene, and SNPs in CYP2C19 can influence drug efficacy and side effect frequency or severity.
For example, SNPs in the CYP2C19 gene leading to a poor metabolizer phenotype improve the chances of responding successfully to therapy aimed at preventing recurrence of erosive reflux esophagitis (a form of heartburn).[PMID 17295875]
