Modafinil is a drug approved for use by the FDA to treat narcolepsy, shift work sleep disorder and excessive daytime sleepiness associated with obstructive sleep apnea. It is also widely used off-label as a stimulant for a variety of purposes, and has been shown in some studies to be have some benefits in the treatment of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), depression, cocaine dependence, Parkinson's disease, schizophrenia, and it has also been used as a general mood elevator and to increase athletic performance, with varying results.Wikipedia
