rs13357391 is a SNP in the - get ready - "sparc/osteonectin, cwcv and kazal-like domains proteoglycan (testican) 1" SPOCK1 gene. You gotta just love the names these fun-loving scientists come up with, don't ya?

A study of 477 Caucasian women, followed up by replication studies in another ~1,600 and also 1,300+ Chinese women, found that several linked SNPs in the SPOCK1 gene are associated with age at menarche. rs13357391 replicated across all groups studied (p < 10e-3), with the minor (C) allele associated with a (slightly) earlier age at menarche.[PMID 19282985 ]
