Talk:Rs7080536

From SNPedia

I believe this study from June 2018 sheds some light on the impact of the Marburg I mutation for CAD (and it's a larger study): https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6044212/

That study appears to conclude that rs7080536 has no significant association with CAD, but that the Marburg II polymorphism (E393Q, rs11575688; carried by about half of the people carrying a Marburg I variant, apparently) may have a protective role, at least with respect to 'premature CAD'. It will be interesting to see if subsequent, hopefully larger, studies will be able to confirm this.Greg (talk) 19:59, 1 December 2018 (UTC)
