Triglycerides
Triglycerides are an important measure of the heart health. They make up a large part of the body's fat and are also found in the bloodstream. They are associated with increased risk of coronary artery diseases (CAD) or heart diseases. People with hypertriglyceridemia (HTG) have elevated blood levels of fatty acids.
Due to the health impacts triglycerides are used as a disease/trait category in the Catalog of Published Genome-Wide Association Studies, the GWAS Catalog of the National Human Genome Research Institute.
