A study of ~2,000 Caucasian patients (and 10,000+ controls) led to an odds ratio of 1.12 (CI: 1.01-1.24, p=0.04) for the minor (risk) allele, rs1889018(T). This allele was also associated with a surrogate measure of insulin sensitivity (p=0.03).[PMID 18192539]
