On February 1st, 2011, Family Tree DNA changed testing platforms for the Family Finder autosomal DNA test, from Affymetrix (F1) to the Illumina Omni platform. That meant an increase of nearly 200,000 SNPs. As part of that change, FTDNA retested for free all Family Tree DNA customers who previously ordered and paid for a Family Finder test.

The present microarray chip for the FTDNA Family Finder test is the Illumina OmniExpress microarray chip. It includes about 698,800 autosomal DNA SNPs (single nucleotide polymorphisms).

With the Illumina OmniExpress raw data can be downloaded either as Build 36 or Buil 37 (CZIP, CSV). It's possible to choose separate autosomal and X chromosome raw data files or a concatenated file.
