Talk:Rs11649622

From SNPedia

Don't have access to the original article, but "In the same study, the low-activity form of the MAOA gene was also associated with extreme violent crime. In SNPedia, the proxy SNP for this variant is rs397514693." doesn't sound possible, given that MAOA (The so-dubbed "Warrior Gene" which has been previously linked to all sorts of aggressive/antisocial behavior) is in the X chromosome, while rs397514693 is in chromosome 17, gene CSNK1D. The canonical "Warrior Gene" proxy is rs909525 (Because it's VNTR, a variable length repeat, that aren't captured by microarray tests).

right you are! I didn't catch the copy'n'paste error when made; thanks for the catch Greg (talk) 18:29, 1 November 2014 (UTC)
