I have this variant and have suffered from horrible arthritic attacks for over a year and a half now. However, I'm a 26 year old white female (not exactly the typical gout patient), so no one ever thought to test my uric acid levels. None of the doctors I have seen have been able to figure out the cause of my arthritis. I will be asking them to test my uric acid levels next time. How much do you want to bet those levels come back with a gout diagnosis?
